Since yesterday's Field Day was the last day of kindergarten for C, today marks the beginning of summer for the Boyettes. It's a hot one today, already 90 degrees. (Yes, for my southern readers, it does get hot in Michigan.) My 4-year-old daughter E was beaming when we told her that C would be home in the daytime from now until preschool starts in the fall. They are quite good friends despite the usual fighting. That's another reason we're excited about this summer. This sparked a discussion between me and my wife about what to do if this next Baby Boyette is a boy. We'd then have 3 girls and a boy. We live in a 3 bedroom home. We generally agree that having our girls share a room is a good thing, even if we move into a house with five bedrooms. Sure, it's nice to have your own room (Kelly and I always did growing up), but the grass is always greener on the other side. Those who share a room with a sibling always want their own; and those who don't, think it would be neat to share.Sharing a room means sharing secrets, inside jokes, made-up words, clothes, and much more. We think we'll always have two or more of our girls in a room, even if Baby Boyette 4 is a boy, but certainly if we are blessed with a fourth girl.
