February is cold in Michigan – have I said that before?  2009 has been especially brutal.  I woke up the other day to -8ºF.  So far, it has risen above freezing less than half the days this month, and all but four days in January were below 32°F as well.

My mom came up north from Dallas last week.  She went to C's school for Grandparents' Day on the 12th. We had a good visit with her, and I'm pretty sure she had a good time—particularly with her granddaughters.

My 6-year-old C is in the middle of first grade.  She can read very well, and loves finishing her goals toward Pizza Hut's Book-It program, so she can come meet me for lunch.  Tonight she'll go to the library for her third R.E.A.D with Spencer session.  Spencer is a dog – yes, a real dog – to which she reads a story in a quiet room at the Ypsilanti Library.  I can't believe she'll turn 7 in ten days.

E is now 4 1/2.  She wants to be a princess when she grows up. We told her she'll have to marry a prince, since neither of us are royalty.  She comes to my work each Tuesday and Thursday morning before preschool.  Some of her favorite things to do here at EQ are coloring, spinning in her chair, filling up our glasses at the water cooler, spinning in her chair, playing games on my iPod, and spinning in her chair.

Two-year-old M is still all hands.  She charms you with her smile, then uses those paws to grab something she's not supposed to.  When she's into mischief, and we ask her what she's been doing, her new favorite line is, "Not anything."

One year ago, we had not yet seen Baby Boyette 4's face.  Now that A is here, I can't imagine life without her.  She can roll over, sit up, eat lots of baby cereal and vegetables.  She talks all the time, and loves to be held.  She gets really excited when I come home from work (if she's not sleeping).  She has just two bottom teeth, which is adorable, of course.

Life is good.
