Since yesterday's Field Day was the last day of kindergarten for C, today marks the beginning of summer for the Boyettes.  It's a hot one today, already 90 degrees.  (Yes, for my southern readers, it does get hot in Michigan.)

My 4-year-old daughter E was beaming when we told her that C would be home in the daytime from now until preschool starts in the fall.  They are quite good friends despite the usual fighting.  That's another reason we're excited about this summer.

This sparked a discussion between me and my wife about what to do if this next Baby Boyette is a boy.  We'd then have 3 girls and a boy.  We live in a 3 bedroom home.

At the end of our 37-week (that means 3 weeks until full term) ultrasound on Monday, Baby Boyette 4 is estimated to be 8 lbs., 9 oz. already.  Of course they say give or take a pound, but that's still bigger than most babies at birth!

As an encore to her nail polish and lipstick mischief, my baby M found herself a little scared today after she climbed from her new bed onto the window sill, and couldn't get down.  Mama saved her, but only after she was able to locate the missing child - she was behind the window shade, and very still.

I visit weather.com frequently, mostly because I work in an office, and must prairie dog over the cubicle wall to even see a window. Occasionally, I walk over to that window, and peer outside for a better look. Even rarer are the instances where I go outside for lunch or a break. Most of the time, I see the world around me via weather.com. It's no wonder I am whiter than Casper the friendly ghost.

The following is taken from an actual e-mail from my wife just after one o'clock today:

In case you were wondering M can climb on to the top of my dresser, open a bottle of fingernail polish, and spill it onto the dresser and herself. She can also get pink "bips" [translation: lipstick] on our comforter.... I'm beat so I'm going to lay down for a few minutes.... Hope your day is going well.

I love that part about my day going well. Even if my day was going well, at this point, I'm starting to get a little concerned. Fortunately, most things went smoothly at home after this. This third child of ours is at least two hands full, and many times more than that.
